Samsung Galaxy S24: new information has leaked

Just a few days after a first leak about likely improvements to the future Galaxy S24, new information reveals more details about Samsung’s next smartphone – including its release date.

Evan Blass – @evleaks on X – has indeed shared a technical sheet containing details on three devices: the Galaxy S24, the Galaxy S24 Plus and the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

The new features revealed

Regarding the cameras, the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus will be equipped with a 50 MP main lens, a double telephoto lens – 2x and 3x – as well as a 30x spatial zoom. The Ultra version will see its camera vastly improved, with a definition of 200 MP. It will also have a huge quadruple telephoto lens – 2x, 3x, 5x and 10x – and a 100x spatial zoom.

Each model will be equipped with a different battery, according to the information we now have: the S24 will have a 4,000 mAh battery, the S24 Plus will have a 4,900 mAh battery and the S24 Ultra will have a 5,000 mAh battery. All three models should be equipped with a fast charging feature that allows you to go from 0 to 65% in 30 minutes.

The new leak also mentions the screen sizes of future models: the Galaxy S24 will display a 6.2-inch screen, the S24 Plus a 6.7-inch screen and the S24 Ultra a slightly larger 6.8-inch screen. All three versions will be equipped with a Dynamic AMOLED 2X QHD+ screen with a brightness of 2,600 nits.

Almost 100 photos have leaked

Regarding the manufacturing materials, the S24 Ultra will be made of titanium while the other two models will be made of Armor Aluminum 2.0, and the three models will be water resistant (IP68).

Other leaks have appeared on X (formerly Twitter), including those of @MysteryLupin, who has published almost 100 photos of the new models, including different colors and versions. We can see the traditional colors, black and gray, but also purple and yellow. Moreover, his photos show the device from all angles.

And the release date is…

Rumors were planning a January release for the new Galaxy S24. Rumors confirmed by Evan Blass, who presents a countdown for the next Galaxy Unpacked event, scheduled for January 17 at 13 p.m. (eastern time). The title of the event, “Galaxy AI is coming”, seems to confirm that this event will indeed be dedicated to the new range of smartphones, and that they should be boosted to AI.

In addition to the technical characteristics unveiled above, Samsung’s new smartphone should therefore take full advantage of recent developments in AI to be able to generate images, create content, translate text, etc. The Galaxy S24 would even seem to want to compete with Google’s Pixel 8 Pro.
