Samsung TV: finally an AI that you will love to use
Just before its keynote at this year’s CES, Samsung unveiled the details of its latest range of high-end TVs. And, as expected, AI is playing a more important role in this than ever.
In addition to artificial upscaling, which makes it possible to increase the resolution of low-resolution content, Samsung uses AI for what it calls Real Depth Enhancer Pro, which accentuates the sharpness of foreground images and improves the visibility of the main content, and with the Supersize Picture Enhancer feature, reduces pixel noise on large screens.
And as for the “oversized image”, Samsung now offers a giant 98-inch screen, including the Neo QLED 8K, Neo QLED 4K, QLED 4K and Crystal UHD TVs.
Standard definition and high definition content will be converted to 4K
As for high-end TVs, six of them are leading the way this year.
First, we find the QN800D and QN900D televisions, both available in sizes from 65 to 85 inches. These TVs will be equipped with what Samsung presents as its “most innovative” processor, the NQ8 AI Gen3, which has doubled the processing speed of its predecessor and is the thinnest 8K TV ever marketed.
Standard definition and high definition content will be converted to 4K, and 4K content will be converted to 8K thanks to the integrated 8K AI Upscaling Pro. According to Samsung, this is the first TV to support a maximum VRR of 4K 240 Hz, which means that even the fastest games will be smooth.
An ultra-thin, mirror-like support that gives the impression that the TV is floating
When the TV is turned off, the Now+ function transforms it into an interactive and customizable information center that can display text messages, weather information and music widgets.
The QN series also comes with the so-called Infinity Air Stand, an ultra-thin, mirror-like stand that makes the TV look like it’s floating. Of course, both versions are compatible with Samsung’s One Connect Box, a single cable that transmits audio and video from all connected devices for a sharper and better organized look – but this time it has a more compact shape.
Next comes the Neo QLED 4K series, which includes the QN90D in sizes 43″ to 98″ and the QN85D in sizes 55″ to 85. One of the most outstanding features is what the company calls Active Voice Amplifier Pro, a function that can reinforce dialogues or key sound effects so that you hear them exactly as the director intended.

Optimize the screen according to what you are watching
An AI personalization mode aims to optimize the screen according to what you are looking at, Samsung explains. When you set your favorite image style for a certain genre, from sports to horror to action, the TV uses artificial intelligence to detect the scene you are watching and optimize the image accordingly.
Two new OLED TVs are planned: the S90D and the S95D, both available in sizes ranging from 55 to 77 inches. The S95D, according to Samsung, will be the first OLED TV with OLED Glare-Free technology, which makes it optimal for any viewing environment. With a thickness of less than 11 millimeters, it will be one of the thinnest televisions on the market.
We should have more details, including prices and availability, in a few days.
