Apple's Vision Pro Labs for Developers open this week

Apple continues to extend its support to developers who are actively creating applications intended to work with visionOS, Apple’s operating system for its Vision Pro XR headset.

The Cupertino firm has announced that members of the Apple Developer Program and the Apple Developer Enterprise Program can apply to participate in the Vision Pro development labs in order to test and optimize their applications under visionOS.

New app or optimization for visionOS

Developers must be at least 18 years old to participate in the Vision Pro development Labs in Cupertino, London, Munich, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo. Once a developer has applied, he must wait for Apple to send him an email informing him of the validation or not of his application.

The selected developers can expect to test and perfect their VisionOS applications with the help of Apple experts. Developers should bring their Mac, their code and everything they need to optimize their application for Vision Pro.

Apple will only select developers for the Vision Pro Development Lab if they have a new visionOS application under development or for optimizing an existing iOS or iPadOS application for visionOS.

Vision Pro development kits

In addition to Vision Pro labs, holders of an account under the Apple Developer Program can request a Vision Pro Development Kit. This kit includes an Apple Vision Pro headset, Apple expert advice and development assistance.

Eligible developers can request a Vision Pro Development Kit and access to the Vision Pro development Lab on Apple’s dedicated developer website. To participate in a Vision Pro lab, potential developers must submit a screenshot of their application running in the visionOS simulator.

Apple’s Vision Pro Labs will start this week and run until August 24th. The labs schedule is available on the Apple Developer website.
