How to optimize the ANC on your Pixel Buds Pro

The noise–canceling function – or ANC – of the Pixel Buds Pro is probably one of the most powerful.

So, if it seems insufficient to you when you put your headphones in your ears, there may be a reason. And it is most likely that this reason is connected with a simple joint. But how do I know if the problem is there? Here’s how to identify and fix the problem.

To perform this operation, you will need a pair of Pixel Buds Pro and a Pixel device. You will also need the additional silicone tips that come with the headphones, in case the selection you made originally does not suit your ears.

1. Insert your Pixel Buds Pro into your ears

To get started, put your headphones in your ears.

2. Open your phone’s settings

Then take your Android device and open the settings. To do this, you can pull down the notification screen twice, then press the gear icon located in the lower right corner. You can also search for the Settings application among all your applications.

3. Check the devices connected to your phone

In the settings, click on Connected devices.

4. Open the Pixel Buds Pro-specific settings

This new page presents a list in which your Pixel Buds Pro should appear. Press the gear icon located to the right of their name to open the settings related to it.

5. Open the audio settings

Under Touch controls, you should see a list related to the sound. Click on this entry.

6. Open the eartip leak check

On this page, click on Checking the tightness of the ear tip to open the test page.

7. Run the test

Make sure your headphones are firmly in place in your ears and press Start to start the test. The test starts and plays pleasant music for about 20 seconds.

8. Check the results

At the end of the test, if you don’t see the message “Your headphones sound great! “to be displayed is that there is a problem.

This problem can come from a wrong positioning of the headphones, or from a wrong choice of the tips present at their end.

Put your headphones back in their case, then put them firmly back in your ears and do the test again. If it fails a second time, change the tip and do it again.

9. Enjoy better sound quality

If you want to get the most out of the noise-canceling functionality of your Pixel Buds Pro, you should definitely pass this test. And for this, fortunately, few adjustments are needed.

When you have achieved this, you will notice that your headphones are not only more insulating when it comes to ambient noise, but that they also have a better sound. Better sealing allows for better bass, giving more depth to what you are listening to.
