Instagram and celebrities, it can encrypt
It’s the holidays, it’s summer … So, I’m giving myself a light topic to end the month of July. Taking up HopperHQ’s estimates, Pablo Alvarez has made an infographic of what the biggest celebrities earn with a sponsored post on Instagram. Astonishing figures for some, delusional for others, which regularly exceed one million dollars per post.
So yes, we must put it into perspective. Considering the notoriety and the community of certain stars, the reach of a photo or a video can reach heights for a brand; and this visibility comes at a price. Before looking at the amounts, the Rich List unveiled this year shows that women are more numerous in the ranking, with 67% compared to 56% the previous year; sport occupies the first step and the third step of the podium with heavyweights like Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi; African and Asian influencers have progressed and now represent 26% of this Rich List.
In 2023, the average price of a sponsored post on Instagram is around $3.56. For celebrities, we are rather around the million dollars and, although it may be shocking, it is a justifiable rate with regard to several criteria :
- the number of subscribers,
- the rate of community engagement,
- the field or the niche,
- the quality of the audience,
Faced with this, a star like Cristiano Ronaldo could potentially charge a publication 2.4 million dollars in 2022. All that remains is to wait until the publication of the 2023 ranking to see if it has been dethroned. In the meantime, here is the latest ranking :
